My 1999 Pontiac Grand AM SE I use for storm spotting/chasing.
It includes:
-Yaesu VX 170 (HAM radio)
-Yaesu FT 2800 (HAM radio)
-Whelen Guardian Mini Lightbar (Amber lights on top)
-Whelen Dash-Miser strobes (Amber/White lights in rear)
-Weather Channel 1510 Weather Station (not shown)
-"STORM SPOTTER" lettering on rear window (not shown)
-SKYWARN Certified logo on both doors (not shown)
-Byonics TinyTrak3 APRS tracker
-Byonics GPS2 for my TinyTrak
-Garmin nüvi 200 GPS
-HP Pavillion dv6000 laptop
-Logitech QuikCam IM Plus (E 3500 Series) webcam for live streaming video while chasing (not shown)

can u do aprs just from the vx-170 itself? plus i dont see any menu option for aprs

@808514 No you cannot, that's why I have the external tracker plugged into it here.

Another question, how do you have your power routed to the battery?

@whistlesun I ran the wire through a rubber seal underneath the dash into the engine compartment.

where did you get your ham radio? i'm trying to hind one for a reasonable price and im goona get my license as i am a storm spotter in iowa. please help!
