Part 8 of 14 of my Super Metroid 100% walkthrough. Played in real time on Snes9x v1.43 rerecording with rerecords used to optimize video length.

Area Covered & Items Acquired
• Wrecked Ship: Energy Tank x1, Reserve Tank x1, Missile x1, Gravity Suit
• Crateria
• Maridia: Energy Tank x1, Missile x3, Super Missile x1

[02:16] Spikes and more spikes
To get through this room safely, dash jump across the top of the spike platforms until you come to the last one. Wait for it to begin raising back up and then jump down under it.

[05:37] Evirs
These enemies are called Evirs. I hate them.

[06:04] Maridia map
The map room for Maridia is through the missile door on the right here.

[07:06] Shinespark for a missile expansion
This is one of the most difficult items in the game to acquire. You must charge a shinespark (shinesparking is explained in part 4) just before or after you come back through the door on the right, quickly dash onto the left weed in the foreground, and jump before the Scisor hits you or you lose your charge.

  • how were do u get that grapple hook thing?

  • @helmsif14 Watch part 5 and maybe the latter half of part 4 if you need to see how to get to Crocomire.

  • At like... 8:30 - I can't fucking do that. I'm great with jumping up shafts, but I can't wall jump to get into that door. What do I do instead?

  • @CriticsConfession Freeze that fish with the ice beam and use it as a platform to jump up through the door.

  • 8:06, for the life of me, I could not find that missile. Thank you so much.

  • @ZygadenusElegans That was the last item I found before finally getting 100% the first time too. I spent hours and hours searching for it and then raged when I did find it, because I'd checked that spot before with power bombs. But bombs won't open it up; only beam shots will. orz

  • @grammaangie yes, they're called Mochtroids!!! They're pretty much failed clones of the actual Metroids, but they're more annoying than dangerous though

  • pause at 5:24 is that a metroid imposter?

  • The turtle can also help u get the energy tank and the missile tank @ 8:00. just ride on top of it adn it will give u a boost

  • @Desbreko LOL holding hands :P

  • 0:45 there's a statue just like that hidden in norfair, but it don't move... or do it?

  • when you pushed the robot into the hole it was probably like... shit, what now?

  • @Alpha1JCDJ same here D:

  • @Desbreko First I would like to thank you for this awesome tutorial, i succeded everything by now. Also, i just want to add something that would be helpfull for the others who can't reach the grapple hook thing at 7:40 - there is a easy method that excludes wall jumping, you just have to step down to piss off the big turtle, and thn she will began to circle around, and when you jump on her it will bring you up all the way to the grappling hook, then you just have to grab it.

  • how was i supposed to know that i had to stand like a ball in the statue's hand??
