All my art supplies are packed! D:

Well, I didn't think I'd make another video until I was all moved and settled, but recently, hubby and I started making these smoothies and I thought I would share!

Since it's common knowledge that cooking can break down and/or destroy a great deal of vital nutrients and enzymes in food, even if you -are- eating a variety of fruits and veggies every day, you can still be coming up short for what your body craves to be energetic and healthy. Nutrition is supah important because poor nutrition is a leading factor in many serious illnesses! Seriously, look that lil' factoid up, if you like. So! Stay healthy so you don't die and not get a chance to do art anymore! D: Drink your green smoothies!

Blending down the super healthy, dark leafy greens, makes them easy to digest and adding the fruit cuts the grass-like taste you'd expect or may be familiar with from something like wheat grass shots. If you mix up this little green smoothie, you can get an entire day's daily recommended intake (or more) of fresh, raw, whole fruits, greens and veggies in a lightly sweet smoothie... And seriously, what a relief, cause could you imagine chewing through handfuls of raw spinach and kale? I used to, and it sucked. ;...; Now I do this. n...n And it doesn't.

You can make about any mix you want- there's some great recipes online and if this has piqued your interest, do check out the following video by the lady who first whipped this smoothie up (From SuthenBoy)::

This is a nice, simple video (From GreenSmoothieGirl)::

And this shows a much more ingredient packed version than I've shown or the GreenSmoothieGirl shows. n...n (From The Daily English Show) ::

  • I RATHER JUST BUY IT IN A BOTTLE :)

  • It would be a lot quicker, but I guess the downfall there would be that the plastic bottles really add up. I guess when you make it at home you might still have plastic bags involved except now I use reusable bags for produce at the grocery store so I don't have to worry about that. : D

  • The start of the video looks almost like a post card from a creative mind. What a great combination: creativity and high nutrition.

  • Oh. XD heh, why... thank you. It's just the intro I use on my videos. <3

  • Bananas have given me issues in the past when I neglected to heed the food combining and digestive timing limitations of the human body and digestive environment. Try limiting the combos, combining bananas with other SWEET fruits, search for food combinging and digestive timing and last but not least, consider eating bananas alone on an empty stomach to see how you feel. Learn about yourself via the MANY biofeedback clues.

  • Oh, that sounds really good! I'm glad to know this substitute because my sister doesn't like bananas very much. I'll try that combo some time.

  • Papaya and/or coconut milk + oats.

  • How much did you pay for your vita-mix?

  • Can anyone reply to my comment here or email me and tell me what I can substitute for bannanas in my green smoothie? The bannans give it a nice sweet taste and creamy consistancy-however, I have found bannanas give me heartburn. Any advice?

  • Odd that you would say that. I just bought a vita-mix, and I must say that it has expanded my nutritional and culinary horizons, given the machine's versatility and power. Food for thought: you can buy a refurbsihed one with a full seven year warranty for a low price directly from the vitamix corporation. Sometimes refurbished machines are even better than new ones. Still, skillfully using an average blender - technique - works, too.

  • XD Space alien juice. XD You know, sometimes when health conversations come up and I mention this, some people think it's cool and others start saying "oh, my husband would never," "my kids would never," and I just kinda go Okaaaaay.... I drop it and don't waste my time. XD I get what you mean.
