An Alan Merrill photo slideshow of the song "Hard Road" from his new album "The Face Of 69" (MEC Records) released in January 2010. Alan plays and sings all the parts on this track except for the drums, which are played by Andy Bigan. End of the song backing vocals by Alan's daughter Laura Merrill.
The photos in this clip are a cross section of his 40+ year career in music, going back to his semi-pro bands in the 1960s and then on to Vodka Collins, The Arrows, Derringer, Meat Loaf and more. I have also added lots of current solo acoustic photos from 2009. Photos are by Neil Kitson (Getty Images), Robbie Michaels (New York Songwriter's Circle), Jung Kim (Conde Nast) and more.

Love this song from Mr. Merrill. The lead guitar playing is so sympathetic to the vocal.. Alan's daughter Laura sounds great at the end on the harmonies. When is she putting out her own record?

That's a wide time spectrum in the slideshow pics. From his teenage school bands through the pros up to 2009. It's a bit down lyrically until he says "it could be worth every mile"- Positive results are not out of the question, leaving that door open. Great song from Mr. Merrill and a well structured slideshow. Five stars from me.
