Its a television commercial- get over it!

Washington Ave is 6 blocks south of South Street, and probably a 5 minute walk from South Street The Sports Complex is at least 20 blocks south of Washington Avenue, maybe a 30 minute walk? I'm not sure. I've always taken the subway from my home 2 blocks south of Washington to the Sports Complex and walked to South Street.
Get your fact straight.
Thus "stunt" was a major fiasco - and as uncoordinated as could be imagined.

I was an extra on the Carnival Cruise Lines Pinata commercial the next week. The Pinata does not break. When they hit it, they open the trap door underneath and candy comes out. It is not like your normal pinata.
-
yeah, would have been cool but the metal supporting the structure would probably be flying with the candy
-
so, they stopped it because they were worried about the crowds fighting over some candy? is that for real. not because a steel structure being smashed to pieces with a wrecking ball in the middle of a city. weird.

kl first comment :D
shame they stopped the pinyatta from being smashed wud have been kool
"it happened in south Philadelphia near the city's sprawl of sport stadiums" - You show footage of the broad and washington street sign, where the event was in fact held. Yet this is no where near the stadiums let alone south philadelphia.

The traditional northern boundary of "South Philadelphia" has always been South Street. Washington Ave. is 10 blocks south of that and, so, an intregal part of South Philadelphia. The Sports complex is directly south of Washington on Broad. As a general description, in the total context of Philadephia's geography, the description seems quite accurate.
