Yes, You can take a photo while recording.
movie autofocus is slow & loud trrr trrr :) .. so i prefer manual focus during filming, much better, faster and without any noise :)
quality between 720p & 1080p .. yes, a little, on big screen, but 720 is very good and MUCH smaller (file). so .. ;)
PS. fish film - kit lens ;) here is 50mm/1.4
