storica registrazione del 1937 dirige Nadia Boulanger , secondo me la piu bella in circolazione ,di un pathos straordinario e di una eleganza mai piu raggiunta interpreti : Comtesse de Polignac, Hugues Cuenod, Doda Conrad and Paul Derenne

What an astounding artist we have had in Hugues Cuenod. I first discovered his tender, seemingly effortless, passionate tenor voice in the 1950s, on an LP of this piece made around 1937, under the direction and with the piano accompaniment of Nadia Boulanger performing the madrigals of Monteverdi. His voice immediately struck me as a unique and precious gift. I hope that Hugue Cuenod still has his mind and his health. I wish him a vigorous 107th birthday and more to come!
