  • Thank god for the internet.

  • Waldner was born 1965. He played his first Euro Final at the age of 17 1982. Waldner won a silver in the 2004 olympics. A chinese player is good 3-4 years and then there is a new one. Waldner has been beating this guys for 25 freakin years. One of the greatest athlets ever. 'Lao Wa' Sweden loves you. thanks for all the great moments.

  • but the old waldner could not fight the new dragons because waldner has no good backhand and he wasnt very fast.he had a good ballfeeling

  • @ZaiiiN waldner won bronce in 2004^^silvber went to wanghao^^

  • @langrissser The two color rule was implemented in 1986 by the ITTF, which effectively ended Cai's career.

  • @blacksunshine1661

its the 1983 WTTC in Tokyo. This was the team final between China and Sweden. Cai beat Waldner, and one game went 30-28.

  • This is the 1983 World Cup in Barbados I am sure. Both players were relatively tired, but Waldner was beginning to read the rubbers. He reached the final but lost to Applegren.

  • The paddle can have 2 sides of the same color. The Chinese player make the rule that it is illeagal to have the same color of both sides of the paddle. Why? It reminds me of Goldman Sachs, who is playing a game no one can figure out.

  • Cai, not Cia!

  • This video are from the wttc 1983 in Tokyo. Waldner lost in the final against Appelgren in Europen Campionship´s in Budapest 1982 when Waldner was 16½ years old.

  • waldner came 2 in european cs this year

  • No he's not-but he was runner up to Applegren in the world cup later that year. In any case, teenager or not, most players were having trouble reading his services and, in any case, he was runner-up to Applegren in the European final in 1982
