Stick to what you do best Aretha. There's no doubting her ability in her own line of singing but she absolutely murdered a beautiful song here. There is no need for her dramatics here. This is a truly disgusting version of a classic song.
Not my fave interpretation but an interesting stylization of a Broadway classic. Aretha being Aretha. We wouldn't have RESPECT and I SAY A LITTLE PRAYER and a handful of other classics if Aretha were any other way.
She has a beautiful voice but come on, she ruined this song. She didn't sing the melody at all whatsoever. I don't understand why she even sang it she obviously didn't care at all for the way it was written in the way that she completely defamed it
