@boomtomb M3ssiah is right. Ultralite is a FANTASTIC low-medium price range D/A. Although, if you wanna go crazy, yet not spend 10,000-15,000: buy an 828, and then there's companies who put way more sophisticated, high-performing clocks in them, and are still affordable. I'll try to find out the name of one my friend used, if you're interested.

@MyHurricanePage That's so not true. MOTU makes some of the best D/A's for their price range.

@JustTeching Do you guys realize you can use little d/a's like the behringer uca202 ($30) with the camera connector kit? Any app that uses the ipad's mic input just uses the line-in, instead. Oh, and this is all without drivers.

can i use this as an amp while singing ?

I am so excited that i finally got my Yeti condenser mic working with my iPad again. ( since the 4.2 iPad update this hasn't been possible without an external power source.
just search for " Yeti & iPad together again " video . Now i'm TRULY portable again .

Is this good for bands who use backing tracks in live gigs.
-
@boomtomb No, firewire is very solid and pretty much standard if you do music with logic and other high-end stuff.
-
@MyHurricanePage so i've been wrecking my brain tryin to get a firewire interface?
-
FireWire used more for video editing not music recordings
because most people have moved on.
