Here are a few troglodytic houses in the Haut-Poitou region, on the southern flank of the Loire. these hill-cliff houses are not as beautiful as the ones near Saumur, but they remind us that people used to live year around in these caves.
Today, these semi-troglodytic properties are often purchased as country houses, but some on this video seem to be inhabited year around.
At one point on this video, I come across two friendly (and starved) sheeps who haven't any grass left to eat. One of them almost rips my hand...
