Why: Alternative therapies inspired by eastern medicine such as acupuncture, massage, and meditation are increasingly being accepted and recommended by doctors across the U.S. to complement traditional western treatments. This meeting of east and west is known as integrative medicine.

According to Dr. Timothy Culbert, integrative medicine can make a significant difference in the quality of life of patients especially children who are dealing with pain, anxiety, nausea and depression. A new nationwide survey, however, shows 90 percent of parents want information on integrative medicine, but only 12 percent are getting information from their doctor and 88 percent arent asking any questions, either.

In live and taped interviews, Dr. Culbert can describe the techniques of integrative medicine, what hes found to be the most effective treatments, and whether they may be covered by insurance. Most importantly, he can teach parents the right questions to ask their hometown doctors about where to find integrative therapies in their area.
