solar photovoltaics are being used. 220 watts max. with full sun and assuming the batteries are low and taking a charge. two $400 photovoltaic panels. two $200 deep cycle marine batteries. $160 inverter. solar controller. under $2000 for the whole setup. not much tech knowledge required. it's quiet (no generator noise) and doesn't use fossil fuels to operate and the only wear and tear is with the batteries.

  • Yeeeee son!!!!! Next up: Solar Powered Aquaponics!! Let's invest millions into that and feed the world with food and energy!!! Hurry up..Before they collapse our purchasing power!

  • If anyone out there is feeling generous we could really use a wind turbine in conjunction with the solar power to provide us with a more consistent charge. I found one on ebay for $400, shipping included and it could hook into the existing system, more than doubling our power generation potential!

  • I have been suggesting this sort of thing for my group. The hook-up seemed well outside our budget. How can you get this stuff up and running cheaply?

  • @Drewkiimon Sorry, firewood is stored solar energy, too.

Photosynthesis is natures way of making energy from sunlight.

Wood is the reservoir of that energy.

Strange to think that the heat from a wood fire, comes from the sun.

perhaps nanotechnology will find a greater efficiency.

  • Hey Yo Toronto if your still camping cheap used top heaters off of dehydrators have very CSA approved heaters that blow up to 150f for a tent. $15. at a thrift shop, $45. on ebay. It works with a car batt and this guys charging or switch outs.

  • @rongrite Uhhhh...

  • Yaaa!

  • @JTS24 you're awesome, where can I donate

  • Nice. :)

  • Right on people - lead by example... having a good sound system for meetings is important too, now you can plug in.

  • @rongrite If you see any firewood in a public park that's available to be cut down be my guest. You can't have an open flame in the middle of a city park. You seriously need some help friend, commies are long gone just like the anarchos.
