Just saw a very good Sleep Hollow adaptation. It was low-budget, casio music scored, but Brent Carver played Ichabod. They made him look an anti-hero, as a hypocrite, coward, and foppish elitist, but Carver was the definitive Ichabod in the live-action, original Irving sense. It was tough to watch, because I grew up thinking Brom Bones was the more antagonistic character, but in retrospect, this may have been the type of satire Irving was going for in the first place.

i wish someone would make alvie movie ofb the Legend of Sleepy Hollow how Washington Irving really wrote it if i was a directer iwould do it i would get Adrien Brody to play ichabod Cran and get Keira Knightley or Reese Witherspoon to play Katrina and get Ben Affleck or Heath Ledger or Colin Farrrell to Play Brom Bones and get Jeremy Irons or Peter Fonda or Same Elloitt to play the Headless Horseman
