I would have to concur with you on this. There always seems to be that must for at least 1 black person in or around whites in movies these days. Even sometimes 1 Asian person just for kicks it seems.

Well, minorities are a part of the general populace. So it's kind of inevitable for them to be presented in movies too isn't it? Also, as racism diminishes, the representation of minorities as equal members of society increases. So maybe that's an answer to why there's at least 1 black person in films.
