Special thanks to Sesame Workshop for allowing me to keep this posted.

The rare Sesame Street TV special from 1991 celebrating everybody's favorite eight-foot, yellow bird on his special day; but a certain blue monster may crash the party before it even gets started, as Cookie Monster has his eyes (and his tummy) set on the birthday cake while everyone else passes the time at the skating rink. Will Cookie eat it all before everyone returns for the party? Can Big Bird help teach his best friend, Mr. Snuffleupagus, how to roller skate? Did you see a monster in your mirror when you woke up today?

Relive the classic moments, the memorable songs, and the special celebrity guest appearances like Robin Williams and Whoopi Goldberg as Big Bird's birthday truly is a bash!

  • @Daffyfan2006 The "Silent" Ernie Was Also Used In "Rock 'N' Roll"

  • @cstoczyn

Yeah. I know Steve performs Ernie now. But there was a period of time for a few years after Jim died and Steve took over that they had a 'silent' Ernie. I believe this was 1991 when they used the silent version of Ernie.

  • Poor Big Bird
