Girls fall for loser's early in life [like Rick] most of the time....I look back at the girls I thought I loved back in Jr High and Highschool and thank God I never entered them and fell in love, because most of them didn't turn out to be good-looking as adults or had kids with the loser's and suffered severely....moral of the story is bad boys or no good in relationships and good boys are no fun/boring, etc...but the good, boring boys always end up with the success in life 9 times out of 10!!!

Gary knew so little about relationships that it didn't dawn on him that Karen and Rick were not really broken up. They just had a fight right before Rick went on a ski trip. Rick came back to town, and he resumed with Karen immediately. Karen was Rick's girlfriend.
