  • I don't know anything about knots. This does look like other things I've see called Monkey Fist. Are they very similar in design? I assume a monkey fist is a "stand alone" tight knot. Is this Turks knot meant to be applied to something? is that the main difference? thanks

  • @truckpipe the monkeys fist knot was originally meant as a working knot used by sailors to pass a rope from a boat to another or to shore, the turks head knot can but used for the same purpose but is designed with decoration in mind rather than technicality.

  • It was by seeing this vid that I actually managed to make one successfully!
