Supposedly this song gave Ronnie Van Zant the idea for Sweet Home Alabama. Russell had recorded @ Muscle Shoals and coined the term "The Swampers" for the Muscle Shoals Rhythm section. When Skynyrd went there to record, session guitarist Wayne Perkins showed the album to Ronnie. Wayne was also later asked to join Skynyrd after Ed King left, but turned them down.
