"rifles and torture and failed revolution"

As if the U.S. never uses weapons to force its economic program on the remainder of the world.

As if the U.S. doesn't torture.

As if capitalism isn't a constant revolutionary force . . . for the wealthy, who are, basically, the people for whom YOU stand up.

Woody Guthrie was a rank leftist who hung out with communists.

The Pledge of Allegiance was written by socialist Francis Bellamy.

    Remember those, you worthless fascist.

    Kill you later!

Woody Guthrie was an American Folksong writer, yes. But, as I wrote, he hung out with communists and was very much a leftist. He was very anti-nationalist and anti-capitliast. Read any good biography about him and you'll learn each of these things

As far as US's "economic program," the US was begun as a business proposition by a select few men of wealth. Democracy had little to do with its founding.

Capitalism is an economic system of expoitation of the many by the few.

    Class over.

Woody Guthrie was an American Folksong writer, not a fascist, leftist, or communist. And we adopted our economic program from England, after all, we won our revolution. We didn't force the world the world just adopted our capitalist ideas. The poor, the middle class, the wealthy, all embrace capitalism in my country. After all it encourages freedom and the luxury of owning your things, rather than having the government owning it (North Korea, China, Soviet Union)

The U.S. government uses its military might to do these things, true. That doesn't mean that everyone here supports these actions because not all of us do. Woddy Guthrie sure as hell never did.

I'd say other bands ripped off The Beatles far more than The Monkees (Oasis for instance). The Monkees were actually quite different from the Beatles, their musical style is very distinct.
