  • Love all these old episodes of a really great series...Kudos Mekrain for bring them back to an appreciative audience. One thing to some of the folks who post comments. These episodes are almost 50 years old...technology has advanced so much in that time that I find it amazing that some posters expect the special effects to be anything other than "cheesy" to eyes used to seeing state of the art CG effects. This show scared the crap outta a lotta folks in a less technologicly advanced era.

  • You are right. The most elaborate modern fx techniques, the fanciest CGI, do not a good story make. Witness some of the modern movies we have. Oh, they have "golly gee whiz" effects, but no story or soul. What Outer Limits did was have the courage to take daring, provocative, dangerous, and even unpopular ideas and turn them into great tv.

  • Does that theory that the narrator talks about at the end is real? I mean, as a theory... I guess I heard about that somewhere else where the smallest of things can be the greatest at the same time because of the infinity of smallest and greatest, as a circular thing.

  • The Outer Limits was in the business of being scary. I think this episode hits the mark more than most. That creepy Harry Lubin music is enough to give me goosebumps by itself, but the direction on this one is like being in a haunted house and trying to avoid the ghost. Very gothic and noir.

  • I remember hiding on the side of the TV set, peeking around to catch glimpses of the action!

  • I love the last statement. "Couldn't we be under someone else's microscope now" This truly may be. The activity of UFO encounters is intensifying and the pressure on our governments are growing to step up and revile their knowledge of existence of extraterrestrial intelligent life. When we do have official announcement and make contact our written history might change forever, finding out that we were genetically enhanced as an experiment under observation on this planet.

  • so creepy

  • Star Trek TNG battle with the borg took place in Wolf 359.......i bet the authors took it from this episode!

  • It drives me nuts they way in a lot of these programs they keep saying "galaxy" when they mean "solar system". It's just lazy, uneducated writing which, given the subject matter is extremely odd...

  • I didn't think the spirit was cheesy. I thought it was creepy as all get-out. Low-tech special effects are spookier than glossy, soulless CGI. Great episode... right up to the final voice-over when narrator said "policeman's uniform." I was like, "WTF?!" Why not on... I dunno, a flea, on a bigger flea, on a dog, riding on an elephant, floating on a chunk of ice or somethin'? That was off the wall.

Still, that's a minor quibble. This was a great episode. Thanks for posting it!

  • if you look carefully you can see one of the camera men when patrick o neal looks into the mirror.
