Mitt Romney spoke for about ten minutes in defense of the Second Ammendment at the 141st NRA convention in St. Louis. He said that he would fight for the rights of gun owners and hunters; but the question is, "Can he be believed?" with his track record of telling anyone what they want to hear. If he backslides on his defense of gun ownership, this speach will, at least, serve as a powerful reminder of what he promised that he would do.

The Republicans won't trust a woman with a pregnancy, but they'll trust a man with an assault rifle.

I like the Republican position on gun rights, but I dislike their platform on reproductive rights. Both parties support some things that I think are good for the country, but they do not now seek the middle ground where things can really be accomplished for the benefit of U.S. Citizens. I am for continuing the basic freedoms for all Americans, full employment and government support for the individual when it is really needed. Neither the Republications or Democrats appear willing to do this.

I voted for Romney in Georgia's Primary as the best of a selection of poor candidates. With him vs. Obama, I will also vote for Romney. However, the Republicans need to get over this business of not having the huge energy companies and super rich pay more taxes and do more to help the average guy and gal or they will lose this election. We are still in deep recession in various parts of the country and badly need jobs, help with education and public works.

While Mitt was not my first choice of candidate, I will enthusiastically vote for him because the alternative is Obama. Keep your eye on the big picture....
