Originally recorded on May 5, 1935 in New York, NY.

A month or so, I bought "Can The Circle Be Unbroken: Country Music's First Family". I love every song on that album, but this one in particular stood out and really moved me. I had a hell of a time learning it, and I still struggle with it. I thought I'd share it with y'all for fun. Hope you enjoy.

  • Back again for another roots music fix. Still have a bit of that flu bug hanging on, but your music is like a good helping of granny's chicken soup. Makes everything feel better. Got that road trip to San Antonio coming up in early November. Any suggestions as to where one might find some good music down there? Sure would like to make up to Austin, but I don't know if we'll be able to fit it in on this trip. Regards to you and your family. ~ Mark

  • @manriq47 Hey, Mark. Sorry to hear about that flu, man. What a drag. I'm not too familiar with the San Antonio music scene. Take a walk down the River walk at night and you're bound to hear some good stuff playing. You also might check out the schedule at Floore's Country Store in Helotes, TX -- just on the southwest outskirts of San Antonio. They've got a nice outdoor venue. Get there early so you can get a picnic table near the front! My wife and I saw John Prine there a few moons ago.

  • Great cover of this grand old tune!! Very well done...Wolfgang

  • @FolkAndMore Thanks, Wolfgang! I have some catching up to do on some of your videos. Will get to it as soon as I get a minute! Thank you for the kind words!

  • Hey Rob, it's late, I'm tired, recovering from the flu, and need to get to bed, but I saw you had a new one posted and just had to give a listen. Sure glad I did! Amazing how much fun a guy can have with some pieces of wood and an assortment of strings sitting on his knee. Thanks for sharing. All the best. ~ Mark

  • @manriq47 Hey, Mark! Thanks for listening in the midst of the flu. Nasty stuff -- that flu. Rest and liquids, and get well soon!
