I've lived in a nice area of Detroit, I have seen bad neighborhoods in other cities from New york to Chicago to Windsor to Vegas. None any worse than the other--including Detroit. People are too used to taking something and running wild with it, and it spreads like idiotic wildfire. Cities rise and fall all the time. sometimes you really have to open your eyes and mind....
