Comparing an Electro Harmonix Little Big Muff with a Way Huge Swollen Pickle fuzz pedal. This is follow up to my first muff and swollen pickle video with better audio recording. A 2008 Gibson Les Paul Standard and a Marshall Class 5 amp was used for this video, as well as a Sennheiser e609 microphone.

  • Swollen Pickle is way to better. Cant wait to have my own at the end of this month

I know It can make a monster sound out of this pedal than the muff, am I right? lol

The swollen pickle is a very versatile fuzz pedal. You can dial your tone for any given situation.

  • "Little Muff vs. Way Huge Swollen Pickle" sounds like the title of a porn video. Just saying.

  • Ive got both and the pickle is like a super tweakable muff with a more hifi sound (and a ton more lows) imo.

The crunch control can get lots of different sounds and by that i mean not just fuzz.

There are some awesome seventies tones locked away in the pickle believe me.

....but it is awesome for doom stuff : P

  • i have both, and nothing against the Muff, but the Pickle is SO much more versatile, way more different sounds out of the Pickle, worth the extra bucks!

  • If you want crazyer over the top kind of distortion to mild fuzz get the pickle. I don't suggest the little big muff, but the normal big muff pi and the tone wicker are great classics. They have amazing fuzz, but the pickle has more features and sounds. Also inside the the swollen pickle there are 2 more controls.

  • Swollen pickle seems a little too "punchy" for my taste.

  • i just picked up a swollen pickle and couldnt be happier. for anyone looking for basically any fuzz sound, this pedal does it.

  • i like the swollen pickle better

  • swollen pickle is very Siamese dreamlike! Creamy!

  • Sovtek kills both of these :)

  • Question: what did you have the volume on your amp and guitar set to? I also have a Class 5, a Big Muff and a Gibson but I end up blowing a tube like every 2 weeks no matter where I set everything.

  • Swollen Pickle seems to have more low end to it, whereas the Little Big Muff has more of a midrange tone. Just depends on which tone you prefer, the more 70s mid range sound of the Big Muff, or the more stoner rock oriented tone of the Swollen Pickle. btw, 4:20 (oh the sweet irony) has a very Deep Purple-esque stoner rock riff.
