Picking seed corn in central Illinois.

2. When you pick Soybeans, like in September, October.
3. I assume your talking about a harvester, I don't know this question, but I'm sure it's like any other harvester.

i dont no a lot about seed corn either
and if you could answer my questions it would be greatly appreiated
1. what time of year do you plant
2. what month do you harvest
3. how many acers can one of them cover
4. once you harvest it do you put it on a dump trailer and it goes right to the processing plant

Seed Corn is always picked very wet and dried at the processing plant. The kernals are much less likely to be damaged that way. Less damage equals a higher quality of seed for planting.

chances are the corn is too wet at the time of picking so it has to be dryed then shelled from the ear.

What the...Is this the seed you buy for planting? Why does the whole cob get harvested and not just the kernel?
