Is there a gun where your child plays? Over 40% of homes with children have a gun, and many of those guns are left unlocked or loaded. Just talking to your child about the dangers of firearms is not enough. Children are naturally curious. If a gun is accessible in someone's home, there is a good chance a child will find it and play with it. So...ASK if there is a gun before sending your child over to play.

  • We should be teaching firearms safety in the schools to these kids and we would not have these problems. I taught mine when they were both 3. My 9 yr old can shoot better than me now. And I trust him more with a firearm than your average range officer.

  • @Bosworth6987 Seems schools are to afraid to get sued by a nanny parent or something.

I AM pro gun rights by the way. :)

  • Instead of "asking your neighbor", TEACH YOUR KIDS!!! Teach them about safe and proper gun handling. They should know if they find a gun in someone else's house, don't touch it, run away, and tell a grown-up. Be an involved parent! Teach your kids!

  • Great idea Bosworth ... let's grow ourselves an army of child-soldiers !
