Thai Royal Anthem เพลงสรรเสริญพระบารมี (Phleng Sansoen Pra Barami) เพลงประเภทนี้นิยมบรรเลงในยามที่พระมหากษัตริย์และพระราชวงศ์เสด็จออกในที่สาธารณะ เช่น การเสด็จพระราชดำเนินเยือนประเทศต่างๆ การเสด็จออกมหาสมาคม และการเสด็จพระราชดำเนินในที่ต่างๆ อย่างเป็นทางการ นอกจากนี้ยังใช้บรรเลงในวาระโอกาสสำคัญของพระราชวงศ์

To AllChintz, the song wasn't actually written by the present King. The music was written by a Western band instructor at the Royal Thai Calvary, but the lyrics were written by Prince Narisaranuvadtivongs, in 1913, and were later revised by King Vajiravudh (King Rama VI). I agree with you though. It's an absolutely beautiful song, and I always love standing up to it when I visit the cinema in Thailand.

I used to live in Thailand and I must say, from what I've learned about the king then, he is a great man, maybe one of the greatest of this century. I have so much respect for him and whenever I went to go see a movie I stood up to this song and had to concentrate not to cry. I love this song and it fascinates me that he wrote it himself. Long live the king.
