FFVII - LLNMIENA Challenge - Jenova-LIFE

LLNMIENA, which stands for "Low Level No Materia Initial Equipment No Accessories", is one of the toughest challenges in FFVII. I've completed it a couple of times before and I've written a FAQ for it, that you can find on Gamefaqs.

No Water Ring means that you have to eat her attacks until she runs out of MP. That's not too hard, since they all deal low damage. That is, except for Aqualung, which totally obliterates the party. Fortunately, that terrible spell can be totally avoided. It requires some restarts, though. Took me about five attempts this time.

I know it's a bit cheap to do it that way, but you can beat her without avoiding Aqualung too. However, that requires Lunar Curtains (and lowest battle speed) and you don't have enough to spare. You would have to reload afterwards and then beat her the regular way.

How do you get enough gil to buy all those hi-potions and swift bolts if you aren't doing battles?

By selling equipment and fighting Cactuars (10000 Gil, 1 EXP).

Do you need to use Swift Bolts in this fight, or are they optional?

They are optional. I only used them to shorten the length of the video. I could have just attacked her to death, but that would have taken like 10 minutes.

@MrGiantHippo Water Ring = immunity to Jenova's Aqualung spell (the one you are talking about). You find it right outside the Forgotten Capital

She seldom uses it at full HP, so Garland might not even have to see it. In this challenge, that's what he needs, and just waits for her to run out of HP.

how exactly does jenova not attack you with definite power!? because she uses this move and im like lvl 39 on cloud and lvl32 on tifa and cids a 38 and she use this move to damage my whole team and jack up clouds and tifas hp and kills cid lol. do you use specific rings or amulets? i know this si a no equipment challange btu there should be some way :/

If your not atempting this challenge, get the water ring, makes this boss IMPOSSIBLE to lose against

Why would you put yourself through this? Pistol whip the slag, put her in the bag, and dump her in the lake. Simples.
