First solo sky dive almost goes terribly wrong.

Don't pay attention to below comments... The mistake was about your left hand which dind't compensate enough your right one when you pull out the toggle.. That's also why people get their canopy twisted, bad compensation leads into rotations..
Just rehearse the procedure few times at higher altitude and it will be fine! Blue sky

Is sky diving hard? I'm 16 and I have looked into the AFF course 1 - 8 but worried I might fail it (Need to save up the money first). never done skydiving before but hopefully will be doing my first tandem jump some point this year :)

Great job man, I was over whelmed too but you need to keep your body position ALWAYS, KNOW your altitude ALWAYS, and have fun doing it. Anybody that pulls their own chute and lives is a true skydiver!!
-
@ixy1987 AFF level 1-8 is around £1300 in the UK and it is roughly a week long course :-)
-
Shouldnt the instructor have been on the other side of you? So if you go retarded he can pull your handle for you?
-
@FrekeOne If you would go sky diving you wouldnt be asking this, you cant really explain the feeling.... its amazing

live and learn :)
-
@Siderman1 he should of at least been on the main side!!
-
that was not a solo dive. during the IAF program, i believe your 1st solo is level 9. you have a jumpmaster with you on level 3.
those were the good ol' days, learning to skydive. its like a drug, you are always chasing that 1st high.
BLUE SKIES !!

Pretty scary, indeed
-
You lived to tell the tale. You learnt from your mistakes. Nothing else to say. Blue skies :)

@ixy1987 LOL in germany you got level 1-7 and it cost around 1700 € (the seven levels) also the instructor lets you go alone on level 5. you only got 2 instructors in level 1-3 in germany.

@ixy1987 It was in the US. In Illinois. Your first jumps are around $200 and I'd say most of them after that are a little less. I did only 2 jumps this day. I've done 6 leading up to this jump.

If this was your first solo dive, where is the second instructor?
keeponwishin 11 months ago 4
@keeponwishin
We only had 1 instructor jump with us.

shame man that was terrible...you failed to do every single one of your tasks including good altitude awareness...
How many times have you had to repeat an AFF jump?
PlayaFishi 1 year ago
@PlayaFishi It was a bad release but everything else was alright.. I haven't had to repeat anything.
