Menopause and Acne information
At the onset of menopause, acne can reappear due to fluctuating hormone levels. These hormonal changes can cause the skin's sebaceous glands to go into overdrive. Because older skin regenerates at a slower rate, clogged pores can lead to blemishes and pimples.
If acne breakouts become a nuisance, talk to your doctor or dermatologist about ointments or a skin care regimen.
