  • why are all these videos out of sync?

  • Hi jagaways, I initially uploaded .asf videos, and youtube introduced this lag while converting to .flv. Since then, I have stopped uploading .asf.

  • This is indeed Malayamaarutham. This song was composed by Papanasham Sivam in Khanda Chapu talam.

  • Thanks for the comment. There's such a hair-splitting difference between some ragams that I have chosen to mention both. People can choose whichever they want.

  • This is Valachi. I don't think it is Malayamarutham..

  • I mean, Valachi has aarohanam and avarohanam S G3 P D2 N2 S & S N2 D2 P G3 S respectively and malayamarutham has aarohanam and avarohanam S R1 G3 P D2 N2 S & S N2 D2 P G3 R1 S. Thus if you remove rishabam from malayamarutham it becomes Valachi and if you add rishabam to valachi, it becomes malayamarutham. In this song, when they sing swaras you can notice them singing Rishabam. Therefore, this song is based on Malayamarutham and not Valachi.

  • @bbsarav: it is malayamaarutham, it can be seen from the usage of shuddha rishabham in the song. else it would have been valachi as you mentioned.

  • Language is not understood but the music is appealing.

  • thanks for the upload.. awesome

  • I think the problem is that R&G have incorrectly included some Valaji prayogas in their rendition. Average performance.

  • What a voice modulation.. Wonderful bliss

  • After reading the article Chennais Melodious Journey in Windows Aisles, the in-flight magazine of Paramount Airways, I looked for the sisters Ranjani and Gayathri in U tube. Yes. They are gifted musicians. Whenever, I go to Chennai in winter, I listen to Carnatic music in Margazhi Mahotsavam. More and more young musicians are singing Tamil Compositions. I like it. Despite the fact that music has no language barrier, it feels good to understand and appreciate the words of the composers.

  • Thanks carnaticopia...they r just superb....can u please upload few of their videos?or do u suggest any website where i can get the audio if not video?
