78+ MPH winds blew a live transformer in to a residece. First responding units found fire and smoke from 3 of 4 sides. Heavy winds made the fighting interesting with flying debris and unsteady ladders.

  • We Are paid to save property and lives. The lives were saved from the beginning and so was the property. There was no reason to go defensive when we knocked down most of the fire within the first 10 to 15 minutes and contained it to the upper floor. We would have been there all night if we let it burn to the ground and to me that makes no sense when a great stop was made inspite of the conditions we had. Thanks to all companies who assisted L42, L97, L92, E274, E56, E55

  • With winds that fierce it should have been defensive from the start!

  • This was a Great fire and a very difficult one due to the fact that the all of the nearest mutual aid companies usually on the First alarm were out on other fire details and the nearest mutual aid companies coming in were at least 7 miles away up to about 20 miles away and we were on scene of a 2 story balloon frame structure with 1 engine and 4 firefighters for about 10 minutes. At our arrival there was heavy fire coming from the second floor with high wind fanning the flames.
