Nothing beats the Bastianini-Corelli version when it comes to singing, but this is EXACTLY the acting I want to see in this part.

@dimakauffman Most overrated singer of all time, huh? Sure you're not thinking of Justin Beiber? Having never listened to Kraus, I can't say how good he is. But everything I've heard from Jose Carreras was brilliant. Plus I admire him for still singing even though he's been smacked around by chemotherapy for leukemia.

@Tenortone21 He does survive,but Don Carlos di Vargas his "friend" who is promising to respect his" dieing" wishes does not know at this time that his friend is Alvaro his sworn enemy who has killed his father by mistake.Later in the scene we see this friendship turn into vivious racism as Alvaro who is a mulatto is provoked into a dual with Vargas.This scene with Domingo is OK but watch the 1958 clip with Franco Corelli which is in another league and numero uno is Bergonzi and Cappuccili.
