Robotech Intro

Intro to the 80's anime Robotech.

Robotech is a science fiction franchise that was launched by an 85-episode adaptation of three different anime television series. Within the combined and edited story, Robotechnology refers to the scientific advances discovered in an alien starship that crashed on a South Pacific island. With this technology, Earth developed giant robotic machines or mecha (many of which were capable of transforming into vehicles) to fight three successive extraterrestrial invasions.

@Hatzihampos It does. And actually, the creators of Macross were incredibly taken with Gundam and Grandizer, as well as Space: 1999 and Battlestar Galactica. If you can get your hands on a translation of Macross: Perfect Memory the show notes are pretty interesting.

Amazing how many elitist anime fans don't like Robotech because it was a chopped and screwed mix of different anime. And while that may be true, they ignore the fact that Macek made the mix WORK. Without the success of what was done here, I doubt you'd have your 10 FPS Naruto and other crap to fawn over now.
