East Amwell resident Mike Striziki, a former racecar engineer, is the alternative energy pioneer behind the nation's first solar-hydrogen home. To those who think eco-engineering can create jobs, cut America's umbilical cord to foreign oil and save the planet on the way, Strizki is an environmental superhero. (Video by Nyier Abdou)

  • The cost of the "devices" is so high that recovery of the investment is just not going to happen. Even simple lead-acid battery storage is so expensive that the batteries have to last seven years to pay for themselves. Lead acid batteries often don't last more than three. That means twice as much money spent storing "free energy" as would be spent buying the energy directly instead. If an idea isn't economically useful it is useless, except as a cool hobby. Cool hobby Mike!

  • I'd sure like to get some more info on that hydrogen electrolysor he had. If I could figure out ho whe kept the hydrogen and oxygen seperate well then I would have half the battle won.

  • hydrogen handled with care is very safe ,,

  • Absolutely phenomenal! I am curious to know: how safely can you store the hydrogen?
