Rest In Peace Mean Gene! Your music will live on, as will all the memories of you playing at city lites when my mom was working many years ago, and most recently when you sang happy birthday to me at roosters in July... <3

Fantastic song, especially for all of us who grew up in Baytown, TX. Adios and thanks, Gene.

R.I.P. Mean Gene. I remember early 80's going into the City Club and listening to Gene. You will be missed. You are a big part of my growing up memories

@ceaton84 I saw it in the last of it's hey day. Around 1980. I was only about 12 at the time. Sad to see the winding stripes gone.

RIP Mean Gene. Your music will live on forever and your memories will continue in your book.
"If you believe in forever
Then life is just a one-night stand
If there's a rock and roll heaven
Well you know they've got a hell of a band"

I first found Mean Gene Kelton & The Die Hards about 12 years ago, when I downloaded this song by mistake. I was hooked from the very first line.
I ordered the album from the web site, which was sent to me in the UK. The customs declaration was signed by the man him self.
R.I.P. Your gift of music to this world will live on forever more.
