...Did they ever show how Bill's relationship with Kahn's mom ended? If I recall, they were still together at the end of this episode, but then they never ever mentioned it again.

Nope you're right they didn't, Bill and Lauma get back together at the end and Kahn says it's not so bad, and then the episode just ends.
