I find that 99% of all the problems you could run into are handily avoided by following a simple mantra: CHO.

Chill the Hell Out.

Someone keeps killing you? Don't flip out and start flaming them. Chill the hell out. Go to sleep. Problem solved.

The guy who just got kage in your village won't accept your challenge? How annoying. However, you can easily gain the advantage. First, chill the hell out. He has to wake up some time, just wait him out.

Someone causing trouble in the tavern? Don't feed the trolls, my friend. Instead, consider chilling the hell out. It works wonders, and they'll shoot themselves in the foot soon enough.

Chill the hell out. It works.
