SP 4449 @ Whitefish MT

Drove All night to get to Whitefish Mt to Catch up with the Most Beautifull Locomotive in the world departing at 7am and 4 days and 1000 miles later I Left the mainline steam Run of the Century at Fargo ND as she heads to Mminneapolis, Chicago and Michigan & Please Comment Rate or Subscribe and I will work on More, But if no viewer input is received the tapes will be destroyed as NOT Worthy of free inet viewing Thank you for your time

Just my opinion but the Amtrak loco is running "full" while train is sitting still makes me believe its there for the HEP, electricity for the passenger cars.

@TGChinappi FRA regulation means that a diesel must always be present, if I remember correctly. The diesel is there as a precaution, but helps a good bit with dynamic braking.

@TGChinappi Probably to assist it pulling the rest of the train, reduces strain on the old locomotive as well as probably reducing maintenance costs.

how come this engine always has to hook up 2 a diesel when it pulls a train

as the stem operator of 4449 run a diesel behind it, it would be nice to have the diesel locomotive painted in the daylight colors, rather than Amtrak livery.

GE Genesis hooked up behind her....and shoving a bit to take some of the load off of her....just to save some fuel......which I can understand....but, darn...it sure would be alot more awesome without the GE.
