this is incredible! this kid is an AMAZING drummer and he's singing at the same time. I'm a Berklee grad and I'm thoroughly impressed 8)

That's not reggae. That's them trying to rip off the end of Spirit of the Radio like Rush does it live.
Hybrid picking is used widely throughout all types of music. Mastodon played Joseph Merrick using a lot of it, and it's really really really bluesy, Testament's Musical Death? It's got that dark Baroque sound through the acoustics.
Certain characteristics in one genre doesn't make it another.
Why can't more kids be listening to Dream Theater than fucking Linkin Park like these kids do?
