  • I have a peavy studio pro 50 ...i have no idea if or how to get destortion on it without getting a pedal.

  • @JanitorKiller @JanitorKiller

I'm not intimately familiar with the the Studio Pro 50, but it does have control for dialing in distortion. There could be something wrong with the amp. I used to have a Peavey Rage 158 (also solid state) and my distortion went out as well. Unless you really love the amp, you may consider just buying a new one as the cost to have it looked at may not be worth it. Good luck my friend.

  • Excellent Demo. I was really impressed by the very full clean tones. The tone at about 2:30 almost made me order the amp immediately. I am in the market this week for a new amp. For a living room/hobby amp how would you rate this versus a Blues Junior and which would you recommend.

  • @truebluefliplover

I appreciate that. I have played the Blues Junior a bit and the only comment I'd have is that the Classic 30 seemed just a bit brighter........nothing that couldn't be remedied by adjusting the three band E.Q., though. However, the drive channel on the Peavey Classic 30 is great. It would be my choice, all things considered. Thanks for stopping by!

  • Every video I see with a classic 30 sounds much brighter than mine. Probably because my tubes are 5 years old. :P I'm definitely going to change them soon!

Thanks for stopping in my friend. Good luck with you Classic 30.

  • I honestly believe that if this amp didn't have a Peavey badge on the front of it you could sell it for four times the price.

  • @AskAGuitarPro Thank you! I just put some EH EL 84's in it, and it sounds great. :) Peaveys are always going to be very mids-y but now it's more defined.

  • @Guitarstring187 try the TC electronics NOVA DRIVE
