An incredible one hour documentary that captures the unknown story of Irene Gleeson, a typical Australian grandmother who in 1992 left all she had to rescue thousands of children made orphans by AIDS and a 20 year civil war in Northern Uganda. Having faced multiple threats on her life by the LRA and being forced to live in an extreemly hostile environment, Irene has since built three schools which feed, educate and provide medicine for over 7000 Ugandan children daily.

Approximately 70% of the children she has rescued were previously abducted by the LRA, many who were then forced to be child soldiers against their will. Much of Irene's work has been in rehabilitating and educating ex-child soldiers so they can live normal and peaceful lives again. Through her schools, tertiary training centre and other community initiatives that now employ over 300 staff in Uganda, Irene has begun to stop the cycle of poverty in Northern Uganda through her organisation 'Childcare Kitgum Servants' (CKS).
