Scott-Martin Kosofsky's 'The Book of Customs' is a modern adaptation of the Yiddish 'Minhogimbukh,' a guide to Jewish life originating in Venice, Italy in 1593. Included in Kosofsky's book are original woodcut images from several editions of the 'Minhogimbukh.'

When writing 'The Book of Customs,' Scott-Martin Kosofsky created a model year in order to depict the events of the Jewish calendar over time. The following woodcut images come from Kosofsky's book and follow Jewish customs over that year.
