Lmao shackkalashnikov is jackass. He's just mad cause he's probably one of the commuters stuck in the millions of cars out there stuck in traffic while the rest of us on our bikes wiz by for work.
-
@joanswitches cause the traffic isn"t as bad for the next block.

Nice job not stopping at intersections. Hopefully the best case happens, and you get an expensive ticket and learn your lesson, because the worst case is you're at fault and get hit by cross traffic.

@shackkalashnikov - There where no intersections that legally required me to stop. Believe it or not, I had the right of way in each case or I luckily hit a green. Cyclists can legally ride to the right of traffic, the fact the car traffic were stopped is not my issue.
The only questionable riding I did is when I crossed over to make a left near the start. But if I show you that in real time the traffic is pretty much at a stand still.

that was awesome, but why did you cut it off on the end!!!

@joanswitches A number of reasons... Primarily the video camera I was using is crap and if I go over a certain amount of time (about 25min) the batteries die and the clip I am shooting gets corrupted so I didn't want to lose that great piece. Secondly, the traffic speeds up for the next few blocks on the Lougheed HWY until you hit Coquitlam center. I didn't want to risk losing the cool footage I already had to gain some more.

@joanswitches and @ totallytempo - For many years I rode from Maple Ridge to Vancouver, and I would see the same cars again 30 km later (in the 7am morning rush). I don't know what the traffic is like now there as I now live in the city, but I guarantee it will snarl up again.
Now I commute against rush hour traffic (primarily by bike trail as I have tired of motorists deliberately brushing and bullying me) and I don't have the motivation to go back and continue shooting more scenes.
