  • 50/50 is the future!

  • @judosquad Chin to the eye socket is a dickhead move, heelhooks are perfectly legal moves that unevolved BJJ guys have trouble defending.

  • @judosquad How are they a dickhead move? They could hurt as can armbar if not defended correctly.

  • You are the man. I was at a seminar of yours and was blow away by your knowledge. Thank you.

  • @HBPUNKHBPUNK please be quiet

  • how awesome is joel for throwing the double shaka at 1:47. ryan got him on the mat, but joel would school him at blacks.

  • Im from the UK and heel hooks are banned from almost all comps no-gi and all with the gi (even advanced) I can only assume you are from somewhere that allows them. Im pretty sure there not allowed for safety reasons and not because they take away from guard passing. They are more dangerous because injury is quick and without much pain for warning so people dont realise till its to late. A broken wrist, foot, arm, shoulder, or being strangled out whilst unpleasant isnt really more than a year max

  • Actually heel hooks are only banned in gi jiu jitsu tournaments, almost all No Gi tournaments allow them at the advanced level. The theory is that leg locks (including heel hooks) discourage guard passing, a fundamental part of developing a solid submission game, so as skill level increases more leg locks are allowed. I do agree that you can easily ruin a career with a heel hook, but couldn't you just as easily ruin a career with any other jointlock? Any busted joint will likely end a career.

  • People arnt used to defending them because they are banned in most comps and clubs for being a nasty move. To dangerous, so easy to ruin someones career. I for one, and i know LOTS of people in the comunity that feel the same, would have them banned for safety. You are of course entitled to your own opinion.

  • heelhooks are a dickhead move

  • it is really great to watch video with a coment from an actual fighter
