When it comes to Fatal Frame vs Fatal Frame 2, I think the main advantage that 2 has it its better graphics. So the ghosts look less cartoony and blocky, and slightly more real. The first game has a much better story, progression, and an amazing atmosphere that makes the whole game scary all around. It didn't rely on just ghost fights to make it frightening.
Of course, maybe the second game didn't scare me much because the first game desensitized me to horror. lol

This is the strangling ritual, and the girl usually does it willingly after being chosen.
When she's torn limb from limb, the priests take the bloody ropes, bless them and then use them to seal the Hell Gate, sealing it for the next 10 years. During that time, they pick a new Shrine Maiden for the next ritual in something called the Demon Tag Ritual. And before the strangling ritual, the Blinding ritual takes place. It's shown in another video on youtube i think :) Hope that helps :)
