Mississippi Arts Commission's Poetry Out Loud State Finals contest was held March 11, 2010. This is the poem recited by John Uzodinma, high school freshman from Rosa Scott School in Madison, Miss. He won the contest and will be attending the National Poetry Out Loud contest in Washington, D.C., on April 27th. A documentary about the contest will air on Miss. Public Broadcasting sunday, April 25th, at 6 pm.
