@1997FordProbeGT IS that right, so my 1976 sires 3 that has NEVER failed me is unreliable is it, although I have had it 15 years with no trouble? The funny thing behind it was that I was given it in 1995 by my dad as I was at collage and I thought I would destroy it in a year but hear we are 15 years later with no trouble.
Theres a joke which has proven true back when my dad's mates were selling first series. You either buy a lemon or you buy a riper, depends what day it was made.
Mums discoveries done 300,000 klm's and only had failed fuel pump after water in fuel. But friends sold theirs so... Also depends if it was treated nicely and not abused/ flogged, MAKES a difference.
@34Pete56 not sure what cruiser you were looking at but i have owned many and they all have had at least 3 heavy duty tug points. even the 105 series has 3 beefy tow points and thats an $ 85 000 truck. btw, its extremely tough and good offroad too. hilux is not made or designed in america, thats the tacoma with the gas engines that are built in the US. hiluxes are made in japan still and some other countries and most are sold with the toyota diesel engine as well.
why did it fail ? no water? is there a fault that you can share, to help others avoid this ? im rebuilding my land rover 3.9 because the oil pick up came loose and ran dry. :(
have you seen the inside of a toyota land cruiser, its all electronic, and very expensive, and lots of vunerable bits of plastic to knock off, and no proper strong tow hitch. the hilux is more like it but thats a american design so its hardly a toyota

@1997FordProbeGT Again really depends on routine servicing using genuine parts and going overboard in maintaining them. Hence why their so expensive!
