Gaden is such an amazing and inspiring place. It does hold the pure lineage of the Dharma and it is very fortunate to have to even hear their name, not to mention a chance to actually go there or meet someone from there! May i support them one day, just like how Rinpoche did
What a neat road trip to Gaden Monastery. It is simply amazing and wow the roads have improved dramatically at Gaden. I hope Kechara Discovery will organize a public pilgrimage to Gaden Monastery soon.
Wow! This is an amazing video of the trip towards Gaden Monastery. JP Thong is head liaison of Ladrang and he is doing great work fundraising and finding and bringing people to the Dharma.
Apart from being the official residence of the Rinpoche or Lama, a Ladrang or Labrang can also be the headquarters of the Dharma organisation and centres for the Lama. The ladrang and all the staff within it support all of the Lama's personal needs and takes care of all secular matters of the Lama. There are Labrangs in Tibet that has thousands of monks/ staffs.
Yes, I think the abbot sees how much work Tsem Tulku Rinpoche does for the monastery, sponsorship, promoting the lineage and tradition outside the monastery and soon building Tsem Kacho Ling, a huge cultural and retreat centre to propagate the tradition of Je Tsongkhapa.
Dr. Thupten Jinpa (Ph.D. degree in Religious Studies, from Cambridge University) also taught in Gaden for 5 years. It is amazing that Gaden Monastery continues to churn out scholars and great Dharma teachers long after the founder Tsongkhapa has entered parinirvana. No wonder Tsem Tulku Rinpoche is such a Dharma teacher. Hes spent many years studying with great masters in Gaden Monastery.
Tsem Tulku Rinpoche really cares for the monastery. He sponsored the flooring for the debate courtyard too. Wow, its quite amazing, knowing that Tsem Tulku Rinpoche was a young monk in his 20s back then when he was in Gaden?
